Indonesia U-17 Dominates Yemen, Gholy Praises Team’s Performance: ‘We Played Well’

In a stunning performance, the Indonesian U-17 national football team triumphed over Yemen U-17 with a 4-1 victory. According to Muhammad Zahaby Gholy, a key player in the match, the team’s performance was notably better compared to their previous 1-0 win over South Korea U-17.

Gholy praised his teammates, highlighting that they followed the coach’s instructions well, which enabled the young Garuda Muda squad to easily overpower Yemen at the Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Sport City Stadium early Tuesday morning (WIB).

“In the match against South Korea, we were under a lot of pressure, but against Yemen, we played with more confidence. We were able to control the game and score more goals, which allowed us to win 4-1,” said Gholy after the match, as quoted from Antara.

A Key Tactical Approach

Gholy also mentioned that the coaching staff maintained continuous communication with the players during the game, providing valuable input on tactics and strategy. He emphasized that one of the team’s strengths, particularly against South Korea and Yemen, was their ability to execute quick counterattacks and shots on goal.

“Our fast counterattacks and shots have proven to be a strong weapon. We were able to secure two consecutive victories against South Korea and Yemen, and we aim to keep up this momentum,” Gholy added.

Looking Ahead: Afghanistan U-17 Match

Looking forward to the upcoming match against Afghanistan U-17 on Thursday, Gholy expressed his hopes for a clean sweep in the group stage and progressing unbeaten.

“We are determined to win against Afghanistan and finish the group stage undefeated,” said Gholy confidently.

Gholy’s Goal and Indonesia’s Triumph

In the 4-1 victory over Yemen, Gholy scored a stunning goal in the 15th minute with a shot from outside the penalty box. His goal, along with Fadly Alberto’s three goals and Evandra Florasta’s brace, was instrumental in securing the win for Indonesia.
